Kennedy Space Center

One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind

Kennedy Space Center

The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is a popular tourist destination located along the coast of Florida; it is a place where those with the love and passion for space exploration gather and work together. The center is comprised of a launch complex, a visitor complex and an industrial area.

What can I see and do?

The visitor complex offers great attractions, exhibits, and fun activities for guests of all ages. Popular attractions include an IMAX theater, where the whole family can enjoy watching a movie, and the Play Dome to kids to explore. There is also the US Astronaut Hall of Fame where visitors can have a look at the extensive collection of space memorabilia as well as several simulator rides, including the G-Force Trainer and the Shuttle Launch.

Special events occur regularly at the Kennedy Space Center; whether witnessing the launch of a shuttle or participating in one of the lectures or programs of famous astronauts, you can be sure to have a one-of-a-kind experience. To ensure you don’t miss out on such events, be sure to check out the days events are taking place and their availability on the official Kennedy Space Center’s website.

The space center also offers in-depth programs for space enthusiasts as well as the center’s US Space Camp which is a very educational five-day camp where children can develop their math and science skills through activities focused on space exploration.

And if you’re lucky enough, you can further have the chance to meet and dine with famous astronauts including John Glenn, Jon McBride, and Jim Lovell. Participating astronauts change regularly and reservations must be made well in advance (this can be done online via their official website). Popular places to eat within the space Centre complex include Moon Rock Café, Rocket Fuel Food Truck, Orbit Café, Rocket Garden Café, Space Dots, G Force Grill and the Milky Way.

To have a complete tour of the space Center complex, hop on the 2-3-hour bus tour which takes visitors past the launch pads and the vehicle assembly building. This tour bus departs every 15 minutes.

You won’t just take home unforgettable memories but also awesome souvenirs from the largest space-related gift shop in the world.  Here you will find over 3,000 pieces of space themed merchandise, ranging from pins and patches to NASA collectibles. You can even purchase authentic autographed books at this gift shop. Some of the merchandise found at this store can also be found at the Kennedy Space Center online store.
